Missing Children Europe is looking to recruit a Communications and Fundraising Intern for 6 months. This will be a unique opportunity to gain an insight into how a Child Rights NGO operates its internal and external communications and fundraising efforts to support the work of its network at a European level.

Missing Children Europe is the European Federation for missing and sexually exploited children, representing 31 organisations from 26 European countries. We provide the link between research, policies and organisations on the ground, to protect children from any kind of violence, abuse or neglect that is caused by, or results from them going missing. 

Purpose

The Communications and Fundraising Intern will support the daily tasks of Missing Children Europe’s internal and external communications and fundraising work. You will report to the Interim Communications Officer, Partnership and Fundraising Officer and Secretary General. Tasks may include: 

 

Job tasks:

Proofreading and Copywriting

· Proofread all the content created or generated for marketing purposes and/or to support projects and fundraising efforts

· Assisting, developing and writing newsletters, press releases, blog articles etc.

Monitoring and updating channels

· Assist strategy and implementation of marketing and dissemination needs related to existing apps, publications, events, videos as well as new content relating to website and video needs

· Create and disseminate regular social media content and topical campaigns

· Update Missing Children Europe website (WordPress)

· Update mailing lists (CRM database)

· Media monitoring and reporting on communication campaigns, social media reach and engagement, Google analytics, bitly etc

· Assist in advertising campaigns on Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn etc.

Designing

· Support projects, fundraising events and campaigns with the necessary marketing and communication efforts such as the designing (Adobe package), printing and translation of posters, invites, save the dates, publications etc.

· Make efforts to ensure the brand of the organisation is strong, consistent and enforced in internal and external efforts

Fundraising

· Desk research on relevant fundraising trends and opportunities

· Support development and coordination of project proposals

· Update donors, sponsors, and partners list on CRM database

· Draft thank you letters to donors, sponsors, and partners

· Assist with the organisation of fundraising events and activities

We are looking for someone with excellent organisational, communications and creative skills with an interest in the NGO sector.

You will:

·        have an undergraduate degree or similar qualifications

·        be familiar working with websites, particularly WordPress

·        have creative and design skills – familiar with Adobe Suite – Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign etc.  

·        some knowledge of video editing is desirable (Premiere Pro is a plus)

·        be confident and proficient in our working language – English (French is a plus)

·        have the willingness and interest in learning new IT skills (e.g. CRM database)

·        be able to work well to tight deadlines

·        have the ability to work independently using your own initiative

·        communicate well and effectively with other team members and our Member organisations.

·        be able to work remotely and in the office as per our COVID-19 policy (see below).

Our offer 

An exciting internship for 6 months in a small, dynamic organisation dealing with problems related to the disappearance and sexual exploitation of children at a European level with possibility to take part in internal staff and member organisations training.

Remuneration

This is an unpaid position. Expenses such as travel and lunches (up to 6 euros), when working at the office, or a contribution towards your internet costs as well as printing postage and consumables, while working from home, will be covered up to a set maximum. We are looking for candidates who are required to do an internship as part of their higher education requirements.
